The Ace wiki is an amazing resource for members.
Finding information
There is a lot of information. Use the Ajax search bars or the program pages to find what you are looking for on this wiki.
Sourcing information to correct, update, or contribute to this wiki is contextual. If you are not an expert on the content but know that a wiki post needs fixing a great way to do that is to start a discussion on the relevant Slack channel and have the community come together to help you source the correct information you post on the wiki.
Contributing
All active ACE members have Editorial privileges on the ACE Wiki. This means you can create and update wiki posts!
Request an account
Currently, the wiki and the primary ACE website are not connected though we look forward to a single sign-on in the future. Here are two ways to access the wiki for editing.
- Email [email protected] to request an editors wiki account
- All active ACE members have access to the shared account via the Handshake page. Please note, that new members should collaborate and confirm information prior to editing sections on Slack with stakeholders.
Best practices
- Do use categories and tags. They contribute to the dynamic lists/content on pages and posts. This means that if you use tags and categories correctly your posts will automatically feed to lists and portal pages!
- Be very careful about adding new categories. This list is not meant to be ad-hoc. It is a good idea to ping on #amt-wiki in Slack before creating a new category
- Do create tags. While tags are also used to create dynamic page content, they are much more flexible.
- Do fix old Wiki Media Formatting when you find it.
- Do use shortcodes to link to the asset DataBase
- Do not change permalinks on asset posts. You can and should change the title but not the permalink. Permalinks should only be the asset number. Example: https://wiki.acemakerspace.org/amt079/
