How to Add Ace Classes to Meetup

These are the instructions for posting reoccurring and new  classes to Meetup.

This task requires having access to a Meetup account and being logged in as an organizer for Ace Makerspace.

Instructions

  • Go to Instructor confirmation spreadsheet
  • Create Meetup events only for classes with Schedule- Y, Ticket created- Y and Meetup- N.
  • For reoccurring events that have previously been posted on Meetup.
    • Find the existing event on Meetup
    • “Copy Event”
    • Change the date and time.
    • Skip “For new”  steps and Continue below
  • For new events that have never been posted to Meetup
    • Select the most similar existing event on Meetup, ex. same department, a similar lab
    • “Copy Event”
    • Find the class in the Ace Calendar
    • Change the title, date and time
    • Save and upload class picture to Meetup
    • Copy the description from the Ace calendar and paste to Meetup (do not paste on the links on the top and bottom on the description box)

Continue below for reoccurring and new classes

  • Copy class title link from Ace calendar
  • Paste the link in the Meetup event description
  • Insert link (top right corner of description box)
  • Copy and paste new inserted link at the bottom of the description.
  • Skim through page to insure everything is done. Ex. attendance number is 1, correct ticket price etc.
  • Publish
  • Select “Do it later” for announcement.
  • Go back to instructor confirmation spread sheet and enter Y for “Meetup Y/N”
