What do I do if I break a needle or hook? Or if I lose a needle or hook?

  • Some hooks and needles are inherently more fragile than others.
    • Bamboo is more fragile than plastic which is more fragile than metal.
    • Thinner needles are more likely to snap (bamboo/wood) or bend (metal).
    • Circular needles can come apart at the join between the needle and the cord.
  • Some pets really like chomping on needles and hooks, which can break or damage them. Store your borrowed items and in progress projects away from pets.
  • Please try to avoid breaking or losing needles and hooks, but we understand that sometimes life happens.
  • If you break or lose a needle or hook, update the asset tag on slack to report the missing or broken tool and tag  team textiles using the following format…
    • /asset amt### Letting @team-ace-textiles know that the size # needle/hook in this unfortunately broke today.
  • Here is an example…
    • /asset amt### Letting @team-ace-textiles know that the size 2 needle in this needle set unfortunately snapped in half today.
  • If you can afford to, replace the broken or missing needle, please include that information in the /asset update
