Leather and Lasers Art Options

This post details the options available at the Leather and Lasers Art Workshop. These are the options that require pre-work before the workshop. There will be some options that don’t require customization also available during the workshop as well. 

Participant Instructions

  • Choose up to 3 options from the design below
  • Email your options to [email protected] by the deadline specified in the event details

Design Options

Option A – Laser Cut Bracelet

Folks will be able to choose from several leather options for these bracelets. After it is cut folks can paint and personalize the piece before adding snaps in antique brass, silver-nickel, or matte black.

Option B – Laser Etched Earrings

Folks will be able to choose from several leather options for these earrings. After they are cut folks can paint and personalize the pieces before adding rings and ear wires.

Option C – Laser Cut Dimensional Earrings

Folks will be able to choose from several leather options for these earrings. After they are cut folks can paint and personalize the pieces before adding rings and ear wires.

Option D – Etched bracelet

Folks will be able to choose from several leather options for these bracelets. After it is cut folks can paint and personalize the piece before adding snaps in antique brass, silver-nickel, or matte black.

Option E – Sewn or Riveted Hot Drink Sleeve

Folks will be able to choose from several leather options for these sleaves. After it is cut folks can paint and personalize the piece before adding sewing or riveting.

Option F – Riveted or sewn rings

Folks will be able to choose from several leather options for these rings. After it is cut folks can paint and personalize the piece before adding rivets or sewing. These rings are inspired by the project on the Second Skin Blog and those on the Lana Red Studio Blog.

Details to email: The number of the ring design from the image below, the font of the monogram you want to add, and the letters to include for the monogram (choose up to three letters).

Option G – Patches

The patch is cut folks can paint and personalize the piece using a variety of creative methods. Once painted pieces are conditions with leather conditioner. Once completed these patches can be sewn onto jackets, clothes and bags.

Option H – Wrap Bracelets

These bracelets are inspired by the work over at the Second Skin blog. The patch is cut folks paint and personalize the piece using a variety of creative methods in this slightly less complicated version of the one posted by Second Skin. Once painted pieces are conditions with leather conditioner.

Details to email: Just the name of the design selected. Very little prep work is required.

Option I – Key Chain

Leather Keychains are simple and fun personalized pieces. Once the leather is cut and etched folks can add color and personalize the piece using a variety of creative methods. Once painted the pieces are conditions with leather conditioner.

Measuring Instructions

To measure your wrist, use a string or soft measuring table to measure around your wrist just above the wrist bone. Over lap will be added after the fact for the snaps. Here is a video.
