The cutting process described in this post is what I use from an operator’s perspective on the average project. Some project might have a different process and other operators may have a different way of working. It is not something that needs to be memorized from a certification and safe use perspective but may help lead to greater operator success.

Session Workflow
- Startup – Use the checklist and make sure everything is working/filter uses etc.
- Zero the bed – Also know as adjusting the z axis – How to guide
- Position materials on the bed
- Use the focus tool to drop the bed to the start focus point over your materials
- Test fire a dot. Measure, note measurement, check for roundness in the dot – adjust as need – will need to do more adjustments the thicker the material.
- Set up test cut file – using best-known power and speed settings do the first test cut
- Test cut – Use troubleshooting tips and adjust speed, power, and focus until you get the results you desire. RECORD YOUR SETTINGS!! ( I take a lot of pictures)
- Import your art into LaserSoft and apply the settings you just determined
- Download the art to the laser
- Verify positioning by using origin and running the box
- Cut – pay attention especially during long runs
- Shut down – Use the shutdown checklist
