Meeting Notes
- Focus of Ace Staff is pivoting to revenue building and Ace Members are being called to action, such as joining a stewardship team
- Introductions for Ace members new to Team Textiles
- Textiles is less likely than other programs to end up closed due to unmaintained/unsafe tools; but still needs care and feeding.

Volunteer coordinator is currently Rachel. It would be great if team could take charge of creating tasks and coordinating (involves creating tasks in Asana and communication)

What’s the deal with equipment that has been donated? The donors live out in rural Mendocino. They haven’t dropped off equipment yet.

Need Volunteer to take high-res scans of the diagrams because online PDFs have pixelated images not suitable for enlargement.

Decision: Team agrees to Liat’s Suggestion for Next Team Meeting’s Agenda to set aside time to discuss money-making ideas (45 minutes)

Decision: Yes to Feature Wall Display; Team agrees and Operations will get assigned
Ironing Board for Quilts
- Terry’s Question: Could we get an extender for an ironing board that makes it rectangular for ironing quilts?
- Rachel offered a counter-proposal with materials already purchased to make Table Top Ironing Pad (materials located in labeled Bin).
- Decision: Yes, team agrees the tabletop ironing pad is a worthwhile project to prioritize.
- Action Item: Terry and Ted will coordinate and Liat can consult.
Slack Moderation/Communication
Who is responsible for team-textiles communication in Slack? No one currently on textiles team is comfortable with taking on that responsibility. Rachel pointed out that most Slack responses could have been answered by looking it up in Wiki. Rachel proposed that we recruit a Monster Corp volunteer to handle it.
Team Decision: Yes, let’s recruit a Monster Corp volunteer to handle Slack for #textiles channel communication sent to team-textiles.
Action Item: Rachel will post a call to recruit a Monster Corp volunteer for textiles Slack moderation and communication.
Developing Fiber Arts Program
Pixie is interested in growing knitting and crocheting program.
One idea is to grow Knit/Crochet night
- Host Knitting Circle
- Come up with a catchy title such as “Stringing you along”
- Develop and Sell Kits
- Free patterns are available on Ravelry
- Identify Yarn Suppliers that might be open to donating supplies.
- Organic Crochet forms, such as seaweed scarf

Signage for People to use Skins on Tables When Cutting
- Put sign on wall near Fire Extinguishers to point to where skins are stored

- Action Item: Submit a request to Operations to put sign on wall near Fire Extinguishers (Ask Liz about improvements on these suggestions when she gets back from vacation)
Discussion of Additional Sewing Stocked Supplies
Liat requests that Textiles Studio stock the following 2 items:
- Blue Tape (add to Tools bin and have process to keep in stock)
- Purpose: used in class for students to align seams on sewing machine
- Parchment Paper (1 roll)
Textiles Area Backstock
Terry and Sylvia reviewed backstock inventory in 3 bins on shelves marked Consumables, Thread, and Etc.
Action Item: Learn more about Purchasing and how to use the /buy integration in Slack to make a purchasing request.
Work Portion
The team split up and spent latter part of meeting as work session on machine repair and space organization.
