Steps to running plugin updates
- Announce your intentions on the site channel
- Research the updates in question… look for fails and recommendations in the documentation before you decided to move forward
- Port production back to staging
- Update the required plugin one at a time. (this is a right pain with woo plugins. See their documentation for more info)
- After each update test to make sure shit is not crazy broken
- Once you have verified the plugins updates are not likely to jack things up it is time to update production
- Go to production
- Make a back up
- Announce your activity on channel
- Make the plugin updates one at a time based on what you learned during testing (some plugin’s are interconnected and need to be done in order)
