Heart On Belt Buckle

ZOMG!@! Look at these ridiculous things that I made!

They’re heart shaped belt buckles that flash a red LED and the flashing gets faster the longer that they are next to each other!

The guts are a CR2032 battery powering an ATTiny13A micro controller hooked up to a couple of reed switches and an LED.
The front of each buckle has a pretty strong magnet taken from an electric tooth brush.
All of the stuff on the front is covered up with Polymorph aka Friendly Plastic so it (mostly) hides the wires and glows nicely when the LED lights.

Here is a picture from the front, before the plastic cooled enough to be translucent:

Check out all of the hot melt glue that holds everything together. Yeah!

Keeping all of the wires short saved space but was a big pain. If I made more of these I’d waste some more space and build up the circuits on pad-per-hole protoboard first.

Here is [https://github.com/atom-bomb/attiny_heart_on the ATTiny source code on github].

I bought my belt buckle blanks from [http://www.hhhenterprises.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=belt+buckle+base&x=0&y=0 HHH Enterprises].

I bought my polymorph from [http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10950 sparkfun].

the other parts are:

An ATTiny13A Micro

An 8 pin socket for the above

a CR2032 battery and battery holder

a red led

a 150ohm resistor

a 10kohm resistor

two reed switches

a magnet

I’ll post a schematic and the sources for all of my parts soon enough.
