Giving Tests
Guidelines for tests
- Users can test for more than one tool per session, but they must book the time and pay the fee per tool
- All people need to have a release of liability on file before doing the test. Note: active Ace members have one on file as part of their membership.
- New users have to start with an Ace basics primer
- Users must have already been on an Ace Tour
- Being an experienced user
- One person per test
All shop tests should include:
- Basic shop safety and etiquette including how our dust collection works for new users – 15 min.
- Specific Tools testing with rubric
What to do if a user fails the practical
- DO NOT START TEACHING THEM core competency skills.
- Let them know they need more training and offer them a discount (Crafty will set up) on the next competency workshop.
- Be sensitive, and just let them know that while they do have some core skills to be certified in the Ace Shop more training is needed
What to do when a user passes
- Let them know you are submitting their certification and follow these instructions to report the newly certified users.
