== General Usage: ==
Member_Crap – This is where members should make folders for themselves to store their crap and then access it from another machine, just like you do with any file server.
Computer_Backups – This is where images and backups for important systems go. You shouldn’t need this, unless you are a steward for a thing and it blew up. Then you might need this.
Software – This is where you put software. That LaserCut program, yeah, it should be here in case someone needs to reinstall it.
Logs – If you have a system and you want to write log files somewhere, here is the place. Go nuts.
== Use Policy ==
*Use the file server to transfer files to AMT machines for current AMT member use
*Example: Export your .dxf file to your folder on the filer server, then go to the laser computer and import it to cut
*Leave files for another member to use
*Follow all the other rules of the space found in your member agreement—this virtual space should be respected in the same way as all the other spaces here at AMT
== Things you should know ==
*Folders and files are not locked and will be visible to other network users
*Files are purged regularly, and the server should not be used for permanent storage
*This server is used for various RTO (run the org) tasks like backing up machines and other admin bullshit
== Administering the damn thing ==
It currently lives in the Annex closet next to the acrylic shelves. It is headless and managed through the web interface.
