As of 2020 there is no longer a path to bypass the CNC class.

Ace members can bypass a certification class if they demonstrate knowledge of the following topics:
- Gcode – what it is, general understanding. Writing GCode is not required.
- Bits
- End mills vs. drill bits
- Types of end mills (ball nose, flat, compresssion, upcut, center cutting, etc)
- End mill size (length & width) advantages and disadvantages
- Feeds and Speeds
- Explain what it means
- Impact of 3 of flutes, RPM, surface speed etc…)
- Cutting parameters
- Stepover, stepdown, conventional vs climb milling
- Fire safety
- Cause, identification, remediation
- Mach 4
- Setting references, soft limits
- Basic movement
- Securing Material
- Why brass is good
- How to use the plastic nail gun
- Setup and teardown and cleanup
