Meeting Notes
An evening sewing class was taking place in Textiles Studio, which moved the meeting location to clean fab. Ideally, team meetings will take place in Textiles Studio.
Update: Needle Organization and Backstock
Larger needles in backstock are incompatible with heavy duty sewing machines and were removed from backstock.

Update: Heavy Duty Sewing Machine Improvements
- Missing screw for knee lift of Heavy Duty Machine has been sourced and received.
- Team will work on creating the steward toolboxes for each of the heavy duty sewing machines.
Update: Organization of Thread Wall
- Bobbins are now stored in row below matching thread.
- Puck lights to be installed on the shelf above.
- Discussion held regarding storage for larger serger cones of thread. Solution: 2 Ivar Drawers for a total of $80
- An idea was presented to 3D print a thread spool piggy bank for thread shelf.
Decision: Should Ace sell bobbins? Yes
Yes, textiles team agrees to sell bobbins.
Update: Needle booklet added to Janome HD3000 carts
New awesome Schmetz booklets are now part of the setup on each of the Janome HD3000 tool carts
Discussion: What to do with wall space above leather working cart?
A featured project wall display is under consideration.
A display of samples for all classes is also under consideration.

Preventative maintenance needed to be defined with respect to frequency.

Update: Certifications and Classes
- Serger certification classes are on the Ace class schedule and live on MeetUp.
- Basics sewing classes will not be scheduled as frequently. Availability of current sewing instructor has reduced to once per month.
- Textiles program needs an additional sewing instructor to teach sewing classes at Ace.
- Discussion: Does Coverstitch sewing machine need its own certification or as an alternative a how to use video and serger certification? The team discussed that the alternative for coverstitch certification (ask members to view a how-to video following serger certification) is a viable option.
Review: Open Tasks in Asana
- Team reviewed all open Asana tasks with focus on deleting all unnecessary tasks.
- Gamification helped to drive a complete review of all open tasks in Asana.
- Team will add a review of open tasks in Asana as a standing agenda item for future team meetings.
