Air compressor

We now have an air compressor.
Located in metal shop.

It’s an Ingersoll-Rand Model RA2E20

It has a max working pressure of 100 PSI
CFM ratings 7@40psi, 6.2@90
Tank capacity 20 gal.

There is a quick disconnect on the compressor that fits all of our hoses. The fitting type is the industrial interchange, 1/4″ size. This is the most common fitting type, and what you will get on tools from Harbor Freight or Home Depot.

There are several different types of air hose connectors, see a useful discussion here. If you bring in a tool, you might find that it doesn’t fit our hoses so be aware of that. We don’t currently have any adaptors.

Tools

There are some coiled hoses for use in the shop. Normally the one with the air blow gun There is a longer rubber hose on the shelf against the wall. There are a few air powered tools such as die grinders on the metal shelving next to the compressor.
NOTE: Air tools with moving parts require a few drops of Air Tool Oil to be applied before use. The oil goes into the connector where the air hose goes into the air tool.
See tool manufacturer for specific lubrication instructions for a given tool.
