== If internet service is down: ==
*Post to Slack, but not before you:
**check both the wifi and a computer on the wired network. Go to the front desk, load "speedtest.net" and run it from there. Remember the result for later.
**Reset the upstairs wifi router by the wooden shelf near the office supplies cabinet, plugged into jack number 5.
*Go into the woodshop closet. The black "SMC" box is the Comcast cable modem. Check its status lights using [http://statuslights.com/smc/smc-D3G.html this guide]. What’s the "Internet" LED doing? Anything other than solid green, and it’s Comcast’s fault. Make sure the "online" light is on.
*Can you connect a laptop directly to one of the router’s wired ports and get on the internet? If so, it’s a downstream switch or wiring. If not, either the router is failing or the line to the router was damaged. See if all the routers are working — check the power supply.
The information on who to call, the phone number, and the account number are posted on the wall by the SMC modem (in the woodshop closet).
