= Rationale =

In the opinion of your humble author, the front page is ugly and in need of some serious love. The blog is rarely updated and doesn’t feature any cool projects of our members, and is, imnsho bad at attracting people to visit the physical space.

The site should first and foremost show people the cool shit you can do in the space; secondly it should show people how to do that once they’re convinced.

[[User:Ryan Rix|Myself]] and [[User:Crafty Avenger|Crafty]] want to fix this stuff and make our website awesome and attractive to potential and existing members.

Between 2009 and 2012, I was at [http://heatsynclabs.org HeatSync Labs], Arizona’s awesome hackerspace and worked on the web design which they launched in early 2013 after I had moved out here. Realizing that people are less motivated to contribute to a shared site like a hackerspace’s blog, much preferring writing on their own blogs and social media, we decided to have HeatSync’s content polled solely from external sources.

Crafty is acting as social media and marketing bad ass and so we’re planning to move the main acemonstertoys.org over to wordpress with a custom template. We want to automate as much as possible, hero images, calendar, etc should all pull from our existing spaces

At the current time, we want to deprecate the Drupal site for content management and use it only for managing membership until we decide to migrate that to something new.
