Purchasing

Programs have budgets. Stewards and teams can spend that money at their discretion within a few boundaries. Some considerations are:

  • Funds that were earmarked for specific things at budget creation (i.e. funds for education kits, or a new tool)
  • Funds that need to be held in reserve to pay contract instructors

Please consult the Treasurer or Executive Director to get a specific, up-to-date overview of a program’s specific budget. 

If you do regular purchasing, say a least 1x per month we would prefer to set you up with an Ace Expensify Debit Card.

How to request to have AMT buy stuff

Fastest: Asana

  1. Login to Asana with the shared account
  2. Go to the relevant project (electronics, laser, etc.)
  3. Create a new task starting with the word “Buy” include the following information
    1. What it is for
    2. Link to product
    3. How many you need
    4. When you need it
  4. Assign the tag “Purchasing” to the task
  5. Assign the task to Crafty (for now)

Less Fast: Email

  1. Create and email with the word “Buy”  in the subject line include the following information
    1. What it is for
    2. Link to product
    3. How many you need
    4. When you need it
  2. Send the email to [email protected] (please know that if the request is urgent this is a bad way to get a hold of officers)
